Friends of Alfe's Cause

The following charities have either been supported by us, supported Alfe during his illness, or we have worked in partnership with them. - Thomas's Fund is a charity founded in 2007 that provides music therapy in Northamptonshire for children and young people with life limiting illnesses or disability which, for medical reason, means they are too ill to attend school for extended periods. - Chelsea’s Angels has been set up to raise funds for families whose children have been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma and other cancers classed as rare. Their mission is to ease the financial and emotional pressures of living with a child suffering from theses rare cancers. The Henry Allen Trust has been set up by Dawn and Mark, Henry's parents, to 'create smiles and memories' for children in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas aged 0-18 and their families. They create awareness of childhood cancers and assist families upon diagnosis.

As a trust, Team Henry fundraise for treats and wishes to provide special memories for families dealing with childhood cancers. It will work alongside hospitals to improve care programmes and assist in producing leaflets and books to help families during their oncology journey. - Megans Flutterby Fund is dedicated to the memory of Megan who died aged 13 years of a life limiting illness. It's aims are to enrich the lives of local children like her by helping towards much specialised equipment that is not funded by the health service. - Alfie died aged 6 of DIPG. Alfie's family mission is to raise as much awareness as possible to highlight the symptoms of this deadly cancer. They also want to raise money for paediatric brain tumour research, DIPG research in particular. They hope that one day a cure will be found and other children and families do not have to hear such a poor prognosis.
They are a supporter group for 'The Brain Tumour Charity (Their Charity Reg No: 1150054) and aim to
to raise over £10,000 so they are able to choose the area of research that the funds raised from Alfie's Journey Fund will be allocated to. - BE CHILD CANCER AWARE was the first UK charity to produce and deliver an awareness card. It displays the most common signs and symptoms found in children, when some form of childhood cancer is present. They were also the first UK charity to develop a FREE I-Phone application, also displaying these same signs and symptoms. It is due to taking this initiative step that some children have received an earlier diagnosis, increasing their chance of a cure because an early diagnosis saves lives.
